rice
awe exists
in each moment and each atom.
awe is the story of infinite giving carried around the world, in
every grain of rice.
the mother washing and cooking and working to pay
for the machine and the electricity.
the plastic bag containing the rice,
which came from hundreds of miles by the driver who moved it and the mechanic who made sure the truck was safe that morning.
the engineers and the service people
and the factory workers constructing the product
(and the people who made their clothing and built the spaces in which they work…).
thousands of years of Earth’s energy compacted and extracted as raw material.
the farmer who loved and grew and labored.
the sun and the rain and the cycles of day and night.
and that
is just the rice
and awe in two degrees.
awe is everywhere,
look.
